Message from our Head Girl:

I have just come back to school for another great year here at Shernold. Unfortunately, this year will be my last year at Shernold!

I have had an amazing time since I joined in Year 3 and have experienced many different activities that I had never even heard of before such as May Day and the Harvest Festival. I will also miss the great range of clubs, such as sports, orchestra, arts, drama and even dance classes. Parents at this school are very lucky to be able to attend events during the year, such as the Christmas Nativity play, the Carol Concert, the May Day festivities, Sports Day and the end-of-year Speech Day. Speech Day is the saddest event of the year where Year six, have to say good bye to the school. On this day everyone ends up in tears but no-one forgets the special memories of this school.

In Year 6 you are given a Buddy to look after and take care of. Our Buddies have just moved up to Year 1 from Kindergarten. I also have my younger brother in Year 3 who is having all the fun I did at his age. We all look after each other in break-time and I am tremendously happy to be able to help other children with their issues or fears.

As you may already know, the Eleven plus exam was brought forward to September and we have recently taken it. The fact that it was brought forward put us all under a little pressure, but the School was really encouraging and helped us get through it without any tears on the day!

We all like to take part in events to help raise money for local charities and also have a parents & teachers association that organise many fund-raising events for the School.

I feel rather emotional to think that this is my last year at Shernold, but I know that all the memories from this wonderful school will stay with me forever!
