Our new Head Teacher is Mrs Dinsmore who has been a teacher at Shernold School for four years. She has 17 years of teaching experience in schools in the Maidstone and Medway area and has taught a wide range of ages acquiring invaluable experiences along the way. She is particularly interested in The Arts and would like to offer each pupil the opportunity of developing their skills both academically and creatively.

Message from Mrs Dinsmore:

I would like to welcome you to Shernold School, a place where children are actively encouraged to develop their academic, mental and physical skills. Our small Maidstone school offers a variety of opportunities within its broad curriculum and extra-curricular activities.

We aim to provide a stimulating and productive education through a mix of traditional and modern teaching methods. High standards are sought within the broad curriculum.

We have dedicated full time form mistresses in each of the lower school forms which greatly benefit the children both in their personal development and confidence building.

In the upper school, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, PSHE/RE, Art and PE/Games are taught by teachers specialising in these subjects. French and Music are also taught by specialist teachers throughout every year group.

A significant proportion of our children reach Grammar or Public School due to strong English and Mathematics teaching throughout the school.

Above all, we aim to give our pupils confidence in their ability, confidence in their appearance, confidence to work individually or as part of a team, and confidence to meet the challenges ahead.
