The school encourages high standards within the broad curriculum. This is based on the National curriculum, which expects the KS2 level or 5 to be reached by the age of 11. Whilst all curriculum areas will be addressed, certain subjects will be taught a level 5/6 by age 11. Our mainstream education is formal; we have increased our project work to prepare children for senior school. Classes are small and taken by form teachers for Years 1 to 4, then by specialist teachers in English, Mathematics and Science for years 5 and 6. History, Georgraphy, French, and ICT are taught throughout the school. All children are expected to work hard and do their best in every activity.

All children are given 'homework' - ranging from spellings and tables in the first years, to set work in the higher forms. A close link between home and school is important. We monitor each pupil's progress throughout the term, holding regular open evenings to keep parents informed and involved, and are always available to discuss areas of concern.

We encourage parents to support the school in order to give each child the opportunity to succeed in whichever field they choose and to encourage self-awareness and a feeling of community within the school.

Working together for the benefit of your child creates a secure and happy atmosphere - a greenhouse for learning.
